7-1/2 Foot + Long Rare Primitive Bread Making Paddle
This is a fairly rare and very long bread maker's paddle from Europe. It was part of a large container of bread boards and other antiques found in Amsterdam. It is most primitive and interesting as a display piece or for a collector.
The wood is very hard, of unknown origin. There are a few natural worm holes and a good bit of wear on the end of the paddle as shown. The handle is fully intact with a couple of small splits but no breaks and very strong. Estimated age is 70+ years old. It must have been used in very large ovens to need this long of a handle to move dough in and out.
Dimensions are: 92" long X 13" diameter round end of the paddle that went into the oven. It is a full 1" thick in terms of wood thickness, but tapers on the paddle end to 1/4". It is 2" thick where the paddle end is attached to handle. It is impossible to show the entire length in the longest photo, in and inside room. Note this is a long piece that is a full 7' 8" in length.
Sold As Is: $88.00 - oversized ground shipping charges will be additional.
