Terracotta Clay Statue of Krishna

SKU: #
Vagabond Vintage

Product Description

Vintage Terracotta Clay Statue Krishna

This is a large example of a vintage clay deity from India depicting God Krishna as a blue baby. Circa 1930s - 1950s the hand painted found object is truly one-of-a-kind.

Purchased in an original container of antiques from New Delhi, this type of clay statue was normally used for display, and as a Golu Doll for Navarathri celebration.

There are no noticeable cracks with only minor damage to the nose as shown in the two close up photos. The paint is weathered with an excellent patina on all sides. The base is slightly hollow, but the statue is heavy at about 3+ pounds. Other paint crackling and very minor flaking is evident as would be expected from a 60-80 year old object.

Dimensions: 15.5" tall X 6.5" at the widest point X 3.5" deep. The base is 4" x 4.5" rectangular

Sold As Is: $75.00
