God Muruga and Goddess Valli - The God is depicted here with his one of his two consorts wrapped in two of his four arms. The peacock at the feet of Muruga is an indication of his divine identity. It represents the ego, which was associated with this God in his youth. Although Muruga is a God of war, he is considered a kind war God even to his enemies. Item in his left hand resembles an arrow but is more accurately a flag made from the feather of a peacock. Handmade Clay Deity - circa 1940.Minor paint chipping and two of the four arms are broken off at forearm.
