Apsaras (or nymph) of Hindu mythology are spiritual beings known for their seduction and dancing.
These 110 year old hand-carved, wood statues were used in many festivals of the Hindu religion.
Signs indicate these statues were painted over many times depending on the current festival.
Their most recent use was for decoration of a dance school in Jodhpur, India.
